Filmmakers Stacey Gardner, Eliza Knockwood join Jan Miller, Terry Greenlaw as WIFT-AT revitalizes presence in Atlantic Canada.
Halifax, NS (October 9, 2024) – WIFT-AT welcomes seven new board members during the opening weekend of the Atlantic International Film Festival. Joining award-winning filmmakers, industry strategists and creatives are new members with a variety of backgrounds – from filmmaking and creative industries to communications and strategy, to poets and documentary creators. New board members hail from P.E.I., Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland & Labrador.
“WIFT-Atlantic is thrilled to welcome talented new group of professionals in the film and screen industries,” says WIFT-AT Chair Tracey Lavigne. “The incoming cohort of board members are as passionate about the growth and development of the industry in the Atlantic region as we have been for many years, upholding the mission of WIFT-AT.”

Stacy Gardner (NL) is a poet, playwright and filmmaker; she also facilitates creative writing workshops;
Martina Kelades (NS): Screen actor, Screen Nova Scotia Award nominee, mental health speaker, and host of the ‘Life Out Loud Podcast’;
Sharlene Kelly, PEI-based filmmaker and alumna of the WFF/PEI Filmmaker Accelerator;
Eliza Knockwood (PEI), M’ikmaw filmmaker, director of ‘The Ice Walk’ (BellFibeTV, 2021), ‘Gina’matimg – Time of Learning’ (BellFibeTV, 2024);
Nikki Martin (NS), author, filmmaker and co-founder of the Black Wellness Co-op (NS);
Morgan Salter (NS), producer of award-winning short Keeper, Screen Nova Scotia Content Creator Fund Manager;
Amy Saunders (NS), award-winning writer, film communications strategist and owner of Canada-based PR agency AlphaPR.
Completing a recent Retreat, the new Board renewed its commitment to grow, enable and leverage the skills, talents and potential of its members to ensure access to high-quality production and distribution resources; to exert influence at all levels of the industry, and to celebrate and extend the impact of the collaborative nature of screen-based production in the Atlantic region.
