Membership and Strategy Coordinator

WIFT-AT is a non-profit professional association of over 200 members that works to expand representation and gender equity in film, television, and screen-based media based in Atlantic Canada. WIFT-AT seeks to advance, connect, and inspire the careers of its members. Reflecting the collaborative nature of the screen-based industry in the region, WIFT-AT has been operating since 2009 through the extraordinary efforts of a volunteer Board of Directors, many gracious industry volunteers, and one permanent part-time staff member, the WIFT-AT Operations Manager.

Reporting to the WIFT-AT Operations Manager and Board of Directors, the Membership and Strategy Coordinator will assist in developing and implementing WIFT-AT’s membership revitalization strategy to increase the number of members and promote the WIFT-AT community in Atlantic Canada through strong outreach initiatives.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Location | Hybrid. Individual must be based in Nova Scotia for JCP eligibility, work is home-based, with possible in-person locations for initiatives.

Length of Contract | 26 weeks

Hours | 35 hours per week (variable hours, occasional evenings and weekends)

Pay | $668 per week

QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must possess very good written and verbal communication skills, and have experience in WordPress, Canva, Zoom, Mailchimp, Google Docs, and all major social media platforms. Basic graphic design skills or aptitude would be considered an asset. Experience in Wild Apricot and Google Analytics is also considered an asset. A background and/or interest in film industry is an asset, but is not necessary. This is a learning position and while the successful applicant will work with support and supervision from the WIFT-AT Operations Manager and committees, this is a position that requires a fair amount of independence and comfort with autonomy while being highly accountable and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

● Review membership survey and Making Waves ‘24 exit survey. Prepare analysis of data received.

● Increase number of members and membership revenue through an examination and revision of the current prices and benefits structure.

● Focus on membership benefits to increase the value of purchasing or gifting memberships.

● Update ask template(s), contact & tracking list (database within Wild Apricot).

● Research and analyze other member based platforms.

● Produce images, membership and program testimonials for WIFT-AT social media accounts.

● Assist in the administration of and content creation for the WIFT-AT website (WordPress in Genesis).

● Participate in team meetings both on and offline.

● Update and reconcile membership database and email distribution lists

● Assist in implementing the Board strategic plan under the direction of the Operations Manager and Board of Directors.

● Assist in maintaining social media presence via WIFT-AT accounts – Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsletter.

● Support outreach to film co-ops, stakeholders and organizations via email and social media.

● Assist in implementing the rollout of a new communications plan via social media.
