Getting involved with WIFT-AT

Can you help us to increase representation and gender equity in the screen industry in Atlantic Canada?

May 22, 2026

We are currently seeking up to 8 directors to join our Board of Directors from across all four Atlantic provinces, with expertise in one (or more!) of the following skillsets:

• Accounting
• Grants
• Sponsorships/fundraising
• Media Relations
• Social Media
• Programming
• Law
• Business development and/or business model development
• Governance
• Human Resources

Board directors represent WIFT-AT in their communities, and with WIFT-AT’s members, partners, and stakeholders. Candidates should have a strong interest in the creative industries across mediums including but not limited to film, TV, music and video games and our mission to empower women and gender-diverse creatives. Preference will be given to individuals who have experience serving on a not-for-profit board of directors, or other strong governance or not-for-profit experience.

This is a volunteer, unpaid opportunity to actively shape the future of WIFT-AT. On this working board, board directors guide WIFT-AT’s activities and program offerings, bring ideas to the table, and roll up their sleeves to help implement them. WIFT-AT is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, women, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Board directors must be full voting members of WIFT-AT. To become a member, click here.

• Eight 2-hour board meetings, as well as an AGM.

• Time spent reviewing meeting materials in advance of meetings
• Ad hoc board and committee tasks from time to time
