Pamela Segger was the Executive Director and co-founder of the Lunenburg Doc Fest among other things. She was a dancer, a writer and an avid traveller. Pamela Segger was a remarkable individual whose contributions and achievements inspired many.
Pamela paved the way in Atlantic Canada for many documentary filmmakers. She elevated the festival in stature by spearheading and championing several pivotal initiatives for the local documentary film community. Notably, she played a crucial role in establishing the Breakthrough Program under the Documentary Organization of Canada, providing a launching pad for filmmakers from Indigenous, Black, and People of Colour backgrounds to kickstart their careers in filmmaking.
Pamela’s dedication, hard work, and passion in her field were truly commendable. She has been a significant influence in the industry. Her amazing work will send waves and ripples through our industry for years to come.
The Pamela Segger All Access Pass Award (PSAAPA) is bestowed annually by WIFT-AT to a deserving individual working in screen‐based media. We welcome applications from full members working in film, television, and/or digital media.
The PSAAPA is designed to allow the recipient to travel to five main film festivals in Atlantic Canada, including:
- Atlantic International Film Festival (AIFF) in Halifax, NS (September 11-18, 2024)
- Lunenburg Doc Fest (LDF) in Lunenburg, NS (September 18-22, 2024)
- Charlottetown Film Festival (CFF) in Charlottetown, PEI (October 17-20, 2024)
- St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival (SJIWFF) in St. John’s, NFLD (October 22-26, 2024)
- Silver Wave Film Festival (SWFF) in Fredericton, NB (November 7-14, 2024)
The recipient will also receive $2000 cash from the PSAAPA Fund to be used for travel expenses to attend these festivals.
The PSAAPA is open to full members of WIFT-AT across all Atlantic provinces working in screen‐based media. Applicants will have worked on three professional short or feature-length films, documentaries, television shows, videos or digital media projects. The projects must have received distribution of some kind.
If you are a full member who has worked on less than three professional works (in television, film, or digital production) you may submit a proposal (maximum two pages) that details the reasons for consideration for this award. Please include the exhibition history of your works and list whether any were student films, web shows, webisode apps, etc.
If you don’t meet this eligibility, we still encourage you to send in an application for review.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants with permanent, ongoing residence in one of the four Atlantic Provinces (Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador). Applicants must have lived in one of the four Atlantic Provinces for twelve consecutive months prior to the deadline.

- Biography or CV (maximum 2 pages)
- Samples from your work – film, television, or digital media (web links). Also, we welcome any additional support material you feel will be beneficial to your application (e.g. published reviews, photographs, etc.)
- One letter of support
