Calling all mid-career documentary filmmakers in Atlantic Canada!

Take your storytelling to the next level with New Waves, a hands-on documentary training program presented by WIFT-AT and Canada Media Fund.

Dive into the real world of doc filmmaking with Teresa MacInnes, Ariella Pahlke, and Nance Ackerman as they unpack their collaborative process behind the award-winning film Conviction—a powerful documentary that reimagines alternatives to incarceration through the voices of women behind bars.

Using Conviction as a case study, this immersive workshop will explore:

• Building a collaborative team and creative process

• Discovering your story, visual approach, and voice

• Navigating ethics in social justice filmmaking

• Budgeting, financing, and pitching your project

• Designing and launching an impact campaign
