Formed in 2009, WIFT-AT is a non-profit professional association of over 200 members that works to expand representation and gender equity in film, television, and screen-based media in Atlantic Canada.

We do this through year-round education, networking, training opportunities, recognition, and celebrations. Our annual conference, Making Waves, brings all of these activities together for an unforgettable weekend.

We are a working board in all four Atlantic Provinces, with a small staff, and we are currently working remotely. Some of our shared values brought to our work together include: accessibility, inclusivity, respect, fairness, support accountability, responsiveness, adaptability, and sustainability.

The full board meets monthly, and its committees and working groups meet according to the needs of the activities they support.

The board also began a strategic planning process and governance review in 2021, so we would be a great group to join if you:

  • have the time to roll up your sleeves for our “many hands make light work” approach, and
  • have an interest in non-profit governance and strategic planning

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, read on!

Only Full Members are eligible to be nominated for the WIFT-AT Board of Directors—the candidate may become a Full Member within ten (10) days of the AGM—and only Full Members may vote to elect directors to the Board.

The election of the 2022-2024 Board of Directors will take place at the WIFT Atlantic Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday, June 13th, 2022.

Please note: nominations will not be accepted from the floor at the AGM.
