Having provided an immense contribution to Canadian Children’s Television, both nationally and internationally, this multi talented and multi award-winning producer and writer has won the hearts and stirred the creative imagination of millions of kids & adults around the world.
She has supported the WGC as an Atlantic Delegate and Juror and has been an active Board Member and co-editor for WIFT-Atlantic. Her cherished Canadian Children’s series, running seven seasons long, has been broadcasted internationally from Mexico, Latin America, Africa, the U.K., Israel, the Middle East, Singapore, Indonesia, and Australia.
Today, the contribution and deep impact of this creatively produced kids series is a phenomenal reflection and beacon for Canadian Children’s Television. Her work is remembered and celebrated with over 135 Facebook fan pages and with an ever-growing 14 million viewer hits on YouTube.
Apart from this incredible feat of mupetteering, she has supported the careers of many writers such as Bob Stutt, Kate Barris and Robin White, and other emerging talents such as, Vicky Grant, Harmony Wagner, Laurel Smyth, Dianna Moore, and Toni Mills.
She facilitated the collaboration between Sugith Varughese and Dreamstreet Pictures, and has vetted numerous Canadian scripts for Super Channel, helping many Canadian writers hone their craft.
For her body of work as a writer and producer, and the contributions she has made on so many lives at so many levels, this WAVE award is presented to Cheryl Wagner.
