Reel Talk Spring Line Up includes Documentary Filmmaker Meredith Ralston and Editor Kim McTaggart
Reel Talk: Conversations with Women in Film and Television spring’s line up features documentary filmmaker and MSVU professor Meredith Ralston whose film Hope in Heaven examines the lucrative and demeaning sex tourism industry in the Philippines (Friday, May 25) and Gemini-winning, Call Me Fitz editor Kim McTaggart (Friday, June 29).
Megan Wennberg was a Reel Talk guest in March. Megan’s film Flush was one of only a dozen short films featured on the 2012 WIFT-International Showcase DVD. An audio podcast of the interview with Megan will be available soon on the WIFT-AT web site.
“Reel Talk is a monthly one-on-one interview with one woman, in a focused, intimate setting, just like Inside The Actor’s Studio.” says Reel Talk organizer and WIFT-AT Board member Jessica Marsh. “It’s a great opportunity to get inspired by some fascinating women who work & make art in film and television.”
Have a beer or pop & some popcorn and sit in on the interview. Afterwards, people stay and chat with each other and the Reel Talk guest and host, and sometimes migrate to another location where the conversation continues, over a cup of tea or a glass of wine.
Reel Talk: Conversations with Women in Film and Television 7:00 p.m. on the last Friday of every month. Carbon Arc at The Khyber, 1588 Barrington Street, Halifax, NS. WIFT-AT members are FREE, non-WIFT-AT members $6.
