This article fresh off the NSI newsletter is a must read: Joy Loewen captivated by St. John’s Women’s Film Fest.
Joy Loewen, is the NSI Drama Prize Manager and in it she gives a detailed and informative account of her experience at the 2010 St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival.
It’s such a great read that if I hadn’t all ready pack my bags and moved to St. John’s to be closer to the festival, I’d be packing my bags and moving here. From the article:
“Everyone I spoke to who had already been to St. John’s Women’s International Film Festival told me: you’re going to love the festival and St. John’s – it’s absolutely amazing.
For those who hadn’t yet been – you could hear their audible gasps of envy along with a wish stating – someday – they’d like to go. I have three words for those who haven’t gone – YOU MUST GO.”
By the way, the Laura Zinger of Proceed and Be Bold (the doc about letter press printer Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. mentioned in the article) was also smitten with the festival. With permission, we have reposted her blog posts about SJIWFF to our Blog.
If these articles don’t entice you to come the SJIWFF, I’ll eat my hat.
